Women in Leadership: Dr. Bronwyn King

24 May 2015

Meet Dr. Bronwyn King.

Bronwyn is not only Radiation Oncologist for The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Epworth Healthcare and Tobacco Control Ambassador for Cancer Council Australia, but also inspired the development of the Global Task Force for Tobacco Free Portfolios.

In 2010, Bronwyn founded Tobacco Free Portfolios after discovering her unwitting investment in the tobacco industry, via her superannuation fund.

Her collaborative work with finance industry executives has since contributed to 30 Australian superannuation funds divesting tobacco stocks worth ~$1.5 billion AUD.

Now that’s showing leadership without authority.

Bronwyn also represented Australia in swimming and was a team doctor for the Australian Swimming Team. She is an Australia Day Ambassador, actively involved in the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring program and a fellow of Leadership Victoria's Williamson Community Leadership Program.

In 2014 she was one of the Australian Financial Review/Westpac 100 Women of Influence.

Hear about and learn from Bronwyn's leadership journey, and those of many more inspirational women like her, at LV's Women's Leadership Program, 17-19 June 2015.
