The Good Life Farm - Seeking exceptional Board Members to help change the lives of vulnerable young people

14 September 2016

The Good Life Farm (Good Life Farm) founded in 2005, provides animal based healing and education programs for 'at risk' 11-17 year olds. These disadvantaged young people suffer from severe abuse and/or neglect. Many have critical behavioural and socialisation problems that have resulted in disengagement from the mainstream education system and from community participation. More than 80% have mental health concerns that can transmute into unacceptable social behaviours.

The Good Life Farm is often the last resort to provide these young people with a positive learning experience. The Good Life Farm aims to create a safe and consistent environment with positive role models and access to support services, building a young person's sense of self and learning new ways of trusting and relating to others and in doing so enable them to participate in mainstream education and social networks.

Board Membership

Why are you seeking a Board/Committee membership?
Board members completing their terms

Selection Criteria
Our real need is for outstanding directors who can and will commit to leading and managing developmental projects that will take this small but extraordinary organisation, working with vulnerable young people, to new levels; to help to make it sustainable and financially viable. You will be a 'cut above the crowd' when it comes to commitment and being an autonomous and collaborative leader. You will be a creative thinker who can devise projects with others and then go off and do your part to make sure there are great outcomes. In pursuit of excellence you are one of those rare leaders who is prepared to try and fail and try again because you are at heart an innovator. If you think you know the answers before you start, please don't bother calling. This is a very special opportunity to do more than sit around a board table. This is an opportunity to be part of making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Most board work is perfunctory. It has to be done and we expect every board member to know the governance ropes or to be able to pick them up quickly.
