Alumni Program

An outline of upcoming curated events for the LV Alumni network of over 7,000 leaders, including 1,400 Williamson, Folio and ExperienceBank Fellows, formed over 35 years of diverse and impactful leadership programs.

Overview

We aim to continue to inspire, mobilise and support our Alumni long after the program finishes, towards our vision of an inclusive, equitable, sustainable society.

Our Alumni Program is still experimental and developing, but we hope it continues the LV experience of learning, growing, connecting and contributing. It has three aspects:

  1. Contribution to Community – to support Alumni to boost contributions to strengthening communities and tackling complex and systemic problems.
  2. Leadership Learning – to provide opportunities for Alumni to refresh and continue leadership learning.
  3.  Alumni Connection – to create events and experiences that connect diverse Alumni in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

We have also forged partnerships with organisations such as the Melbourne Forum, to create even more opportunities for our Alumni.

Thank you to the many Alumni who have ‘taken the call’ to contribute to LV by speaking at programs and events; contributing to the LV and LVF Boards, and Advisory Committees; and providing technical expertise on areas from events to philanthropy to contract T&Cs! If you would like to help in some way, please email alumni@leadershipvictoria.org.

Speaking & Mentoring

LV Alumni often contribute time and expertise as guest speakers and mentors in our programs.

Leadership Victoria has partnered with Agriculture Victoria to deliver the Victorian Rural Women's Network Leadership & Mentoring Program.

LV is seeking mentors to support the 20 program participants as they navigate their leadership challenge and adaptive leadership journey. The ideal Leadership Victoria mentor brings wisdom borne of experience, and knows when to listen, when to reflect and when to advise. To read more about the criteria, program and what's involved click here.

To register your interest, please fill out the expression of interest form via the link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VRWN_Mentor_EOI

Expressions of Interest will close on Sunday, 8 September 2024. If you have any issue with the link or application, please do not hesitate to let us know via email to programs@leadershipvictoria.org.

Leadership Retreat

Coffee Roulette

Launching soon.

Would you like to meet up with another Leadership Victoria Alum for a coffee*? We will match you up with another Alum, and leave it to you to have a great and connecting one-on-one conversation, wherever and whenever it suits you (including online).

We ask only that you meet by the designated end date of each round, you talk about big questions, and let us know – via a short questionnaire – how it went.  We would love to see a photo of you two as well! Look out for further communications about registering.

Ideas in Development

Stay tuned for more information, and please email alumni@leadershipvictoria.org if you have other ideas or can provide sponsorship or support to help make these things possible.

Contribution to Community

Our Alumni have asked for facilitated support to make a greater contribution to community. To that end, we are exploring:

Revival of SkillsBank, a matching service between community organisations needing help, and LV Alumni wanting to contribute their skills, networks and resources.

Alumni Projects that can have larger impacts in communities. These may be extensions of the WCLP Collectives.

Workshops where our Alumni provide Peer Case Consulting support for community leaders.

Leadership Learning

We are also planning a number of inspiring and capability building events with compelling experts and leaders sharing their wisdom.  Ideas in development include:

Reviving the LV Leadership Lecture, alternating annually with a First Nations Leadership Lecture.

Webinars on:

‘Effective contemporary giving in a civil society’ led by philanthropy expert and WCLP Fellow ’90 Genevieve Timmons.

‘Joining & contributing to NFP Boards’

Peer Case Consulting workshops to explore Alumni’s own leadership challenges.

Alumni Connection

Meaningful networking events, using the tried and tested LV formula of interesting speakers and great discussion:

  • Sustainable Design, hosted by current WCLP participant Mark Davis, Head of Digital, Today at their Design Studio in Collingwood.
  • Leadership and Sport, hosted by WCLP '13 Fellow Cameron McLeod, CEO, The Huddle at North Melbourne Football Club in the hi-tech Huddle community space.

A Women Leaders Networking event for Alumni, mentors and speakers from our Women’s Leadership Program, Joan Kirner Emerging Leaders Program, and NORTH Link Women’s Leadership Program.

A Deep & Difficult Dialogue event, to provide space for our Alumni to revisit that LV magic of hearing about new, challenging and/or provocative ideas from experts and leaders, and exploring with other great minds what those issues mean for community.
